Make Someone Fall Love You Black Magic – One of the items in the postponed exhibition, Hebrew Manuscripts: A Journey Through the Written Word, is a small 16th-century Italian codex. It is titled the Tree of Knowledge (Ets ha-Da’at) and contains about 125 magic spells that are used for a variety of purposes, including curses, healing potions, love charms, and talismans. There are many such potions manuscripts in the Hebrew collection, but this one is special for at least two reasons. Firstly, because of the neat layout and accuracy of execution. Second, because there is an introduction that tells the story of how Elisha, the author, collected this spell.

According to him, Elisha had a strong thirst for knowledge and went on a journey to satisfy that thirst. He wandered from town to town until he reached Venice, the great city of the saints of wisdom and knowledge. There, by God’s mercy, he gained the trust of Rabbi Judah Alkabetz and was granted access to the rabbi’s library. He soon discovered that the rabbi’s collection contained valuable Kabbalistic writings. “I came out for fame and praise [God’s finger – Exodus 31:18]. Over time he gained the trust of the wise men of Safed, but eventually they shared their secret wisdom with him. His book, which he called The Tree of Knowledge, is based on his time in Venice and the secrets Safed acquired.
