Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself – By Dr. Joe Dispenza. I have been on a spiritual journey for over a year now. Last year I discovered Neville Goddard and watched his lectures on YouTube and eventually bought his books.
Dr. Dispenza was a student or studied Neville’s teachings. Although I strongly believe in Neville’s teachings and believe they will work if you do them, I am still my mother’s WHY child. Not only did I want to know what, I needed to know why.
, Dr. Dispenza presents Neville’s principles and combines them with current science about how our brains work. It explains how we can enter the subconscious where our plans and habits of life live and begin to eliminate them and introduce new plans and activities to improve your lives and frees you from the habit of being yourself.
. Dr. Dispenza devotes an entire section of his book to describing a four-week meditation practice that will help you break old habits and patterns of thought and develop new ones that promote love, happiness, etc. This section contains brief documents or recommendations. to help you get to the bottom of things. I love journaling every day. If you need some tips on how to get started with a journal, please see my previous post here.
When I finish reading the book, I plan to practice meditation and come back with a life update and check it out later. Have you read anything interesting or useful lately?
When I first ordered the book I was very excited because I saw great reviews and wanted to read the book myself. Mind you, I didn’t expect much from it because I thought it was a great read. Boy was I wrong.
This is the story of my journey through Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and why I think you should too.
Before I get into all the fancy stuff, I want you to understand what makes this book different from other books. There is an introduction, 14 chapters of content, afterword, Appendices A, B and C, endnotes, index, acknowledgments and About the Author section. The biggest change for me is the appendix, which is the journey that Dr. Joe Dispenza invites you to embark on.
After reading the 14 chapters, you should be able to implement everything you have learned. And practice makes sense.
The course of these guided meditations should last about 4 weeks. Thinking is different every week and you need to develop your practice. I mean if you finish week 1 you move on to week 2, but now you have to do week 1 and week 2 in one sitting. Most importantly, in week 4 you will integrate all the guiding principles. This means that your work will take longer as you go.
You can view these thoughts as step 1, step 2, step 3, and step 4. However, when you sit down to think, always start with step 1.
Now, remember how I said No more than 4 weeks? It took me more than 2 months to complete. So don’t panic if you haven’t thought for 1 hour. You will only reach this size after you start week 4. And I think the whole thing took me about 4 months. This is because when I first started studying, I went home for a month and completely missed the point.
I don’t want to burden you with too much information if the purpose of this blog post is to give you an idea of my experience. For this reason, I will try to keep this section short. If you want me to do a regular book review and summary, please let me know.
Breaking the habit of being yourself is about quantum physics. Of course, many people will tell you that everything in quantum physics is a lie. On the other hand, there are those who believe that the Earth is flat. So I invite you to make up your own mind. Dr. Dispenza in quantum physics explains how we can change our whole nature.
The Newtonian school or the so-called “classical” model of physics teaches us that everything is stable, everything and their dog. Energy is defined as the force that moves things.
About 200 years later, Albert Einstein showed that energy and matter are the same thing and “change”.
Dr. Joe Dispenza continues to explain how to start with an idea and you can “remember your future.” However, you must understand that in order to change in the future, you must be different. Your thoughts cannot be stuck in the past, because you will produce the same things.
You need to retrain your brain, and it’s not enough to focus on one event at a time. You need to practice repetition. Only then does the brain learn new behaviors and discard old ones. Also, you need to be honest with yourself and admit what you have been hiding. Most importantly, you need to dig deep and find out exactly which parts you want to release.
This is a difficult concept to understand, as I advise you not to dwell on the past and “remember the future.” But have you ever heard the saying “you’re a liar”? Quantum physics says that all possibilities exist and that everything is equal. Our thoughts, actions, thoughts and feelings cannot only affect the present or the future. It also affects the past. STAY WITH ME.
A double blind study conducted by Leonard Leibovici in July 2000 revealed that we may not fully understand how time works.
Between 1990 – 1996 there were 3393 patients with severe blood disease. 10 years later, Leonard Leibovici did an experiment in which he did not divide these patients into two groups: a control group and an active group. The group prayed for them. Just a reminder, prayers were held in the year 2000. The control group did not pray. The conclusions drawn from the experiment are clear. Patients allocated to the intervention group had a significantly shorter duration of fever and hospital stay. The death rate has decreased (although not by much).
There are many things we don’t understand about time, however, if you know that your actions, thoughts, and feelings today can define your past, present, and future next time, will you do something different?
Breaking yourself down will give you all the right mindset in the book. You can record yourself, buy guided meditations from Dispenza’s website, or use one of the recordings on Youtube. I love Chris Turner’s music.
It’s important to choose the tone of your thoughts as I listened to a different channel when doing weeks 1 and 2 and it wasn’t as good as Chris’s. When I listened to his channel, I immediately thought “yeah, that voice doesn’t bother me, now we’re talking haha”.
Before any thought, You will always take care not to be disturbed, have enough time, and be comfortable. I always think of the end of the bed facing the window, because I like the end of the pillow.
To be honest, week 1 was the hardest for me because I really wanted to master it before moving on to week 2. In week 1 you will learn how to change the state of Alpha and Theta brainwaves. Dr. Dispenza asks you to look outside first before you start working inside. For this reason, the meditation you do in the first week will last about 20 minutes and will focus on your body and the external environment. We must learn to know our bodies and stay in control.
You have two options: think about the physical side OR increase the water level. I’ve tried both and I love how the body feels. Guided meditation asks you to focus on where your body parts are in space. You start with the lips moving down to the feet and finish looking up into the sky. As I’m writing this right now, it’s funny how often I write the word “space”.
I probably spent 2-3 weeks just doing bodybuilding before adding the 2nd week.
